When games flood the market with expansions, like Dreamblade and Revolver, it seems to me that people lose interest more quickly.
This might be the case. However, the LCG distribution model used for Netrunner is well established for the other FFG LCG's so it should be no surprise to anyone.

Not to those that have tried other FFG LCG's.
There are very many players out there who heard about the mythical netrunner being reprinted and jumped the wagon to see what the fuzz was about. Those people might never have experienced the LCG model.
I know about the LCG model from CoC and it turns me off. It's a personal issue, no doubt about it, but it still bothers me that (in time) there are soooo many cards out there and I probably only own a handful of them or have only experienced a handful of them.
I personally don't think it's about the 200$ per year I think it's about feeling 'left behind' because you can't dedicate enough time to experience it all.
People like thinking I say this as a terrible thing, it's not per se, but it still bothers me slightly. I just don't like the feeling that the meta is evolving faster than I have opportunity to experience it myself.
This is of course a sign that netrunner is a very good game, otherwise I simply wouldn't care. :)
It's sort of if all your friends had time to attend parties and go on vacation and you always have to work. Sure you can buy the ticket and you can see the pretty pictures of people having fun by the pool and on the dance floor, but you still aren't there yourself. With all your money and your plane ticket, you still aren't there...
