Well as well… I at least was sold a copy without having pre-ordered. And it did sound like they had a whole bunch for regular sale.

Yup, that was true until the last few hours at the fair. Then, you could come back and pick up unclaimed pre-orders. Works this way with any publisher that I've heard doing pre-orders.

Actually, Asmodee was receiving additional copies, not only the amount pre-ordered. Their initial plan (as far as I have been informed) had been to kick out the extra copies first thing on Thursday, and I was told there were only a few, so first thing I did (since I missed the time window for pre-order) was check by there. I was told they were still awaiting a shipment and would definitely not sell any non-preorder copies before Sunday morning, I should return by then. Accidentally I passed by that stall again on Friday and noticed a suspiciously non-preordery-looking transaction, so I asked and tadaa: they had received the shipment and were selling them now, so I could buy one, they would "probably run out by Saturday morning". That sounded to me a lot like they would not have any copies left Sunday morning, so I got one then.
