I hear people talk about the 18% of critical hits that TIEs ignore as a big advantage. But you have to remember that TIE Advanced and X-Wings ignore 40% and Y-Wings ignore 37.5% of crits because they hit the shields. More importantly, a TIE can't count on a critical not effecting it while the others have absolute assurance that the first 2-3 hits will not deliver any critical damages.


Plus, although the regular TIEs aren't affected by some crit effects, that is because they are inferior to begin with. As someone else said, they come "pre-damaged." And a "Direct hit" crit is pretty powerful against hull value 3... I don't see how you can talk about being weaker in this area as an "advantage."
