The rule that exists is specifically for awards. No reason to believe it applies for something else... Since the card doesn't say anything about 2p there's no reason to believe it would work that way
The rule from the base game is obviously only for awards, there has been no need to make the distinction between 1st and 2nd place in any other instance until now. From the text as is, clearly it does not matter whether you play a 2p or 5p game. I am asking just in case the authors forgot to mention it and to be sure that the text is complete.
I would not be the first time. For example, the Czech rulebook of Colonies contains the rule that you cannot split resources you gain from trading onto multiple cards, while it is missing in the English rulebook and people had to ask here on forums later, many less-geeky probably do not know it. Why? Because I asked. Likewise, I do not want such important rules, if there are any, be missing in the translation.
