Maarek is much nastier than Vader. If you can get his Special Ability off (land a Crit with him) a couple of times in a game he's worth it. With Veteran Instincts he is shooting at Skill 9, and he's still a point less than Vader.Vader is fantastic, no doubt, but even if he double down's on the offense with Target Lock and Focus, best case he's landing 3 Random Crits. Chances are he'll be lucky to get one to count. With Maarek, true he can't double down like Vader but when he gets a Crit on it is almost guaranteed to hurt. Also Maarek is much more effective against Imperial builds because they lack Shields.
