I'm trying to organize the components to Arkham horror to simply setup, play, and cleanup, and I'm currently trying to figure out how to improve the other world encounter deck. Mostly my concerns are:- combining all expansions makes a deck that is large and unwieldy
- combining all expansions makes it more likely to result in "other" encounters
- choosing to selectively shuffle in (and sort back out again) the cards from selective expansions is time consuming
- flipping through numerous cards to find the correct color is ok, but seems more complicated than it needs to be.
Possible solutions are:
A - Use the encounter cards from the Akham toolkit, selecting the desired expansions
B - Shuffle all encounter cards together, and use them per normal Arkham rules
C - Shuffle all encounter cards together, but separate them into four decks, according to color
Option A is certainly an acceptable solution. But I would like to ask the following questions to evaluate whether B and C are viable strategies:
1 - Is there any reason NOT to combine all other world encounter cards into a single deck?
2 - Is there any reason NOT to separate the cards into color specific decks? (The reshuffle card would not be used, and the 2 double color cards would have to be placed in one of the colored decks.)
Thanks.
