2 Core Sets is almost a must. You can live with 1, but 2 makes it so much easier. The extra dice, the extra markers, and it's cheaper than 3 expansions.I'd recommend 2 core sets and one of each expansion. At a discounter, that's about $100. If they need more, I'd recommend an extra Y-Wing and TIE Advanced, or just wait till Wave 2 :)
