Hi allI understand that a targeting lock can be made if the x-wing is within 1-3 range and it doesn't need direct front-arc LOS. Fine so far. I also understand that the targeting lock can be retained until used and still allows a separate action to be made on an up-keep turn. Again, makes sense.
My questions are therefore...
(1) can the x-wing target a different ship with a normal attack whilst still retaining the unused lock? Appreciate that the x-wing may only target lock a single ship at a time.
(2) should the x-wing player declare he/she is using the target lock before or after rolling dice?
(3) can a target lock really be retained for a future turn if the x-wing is in an out of range position (I.e further away than range 3)?
Re Q3 - my thinking is that a tie may opt to 'bug out' to shake the lock by accelerating directly away whilst a squad-mate engages from a different angle....
