If you're keeper, you should have a decent grasp of the rules before the game starts. Specific elements like "How do puzzles work?" or "What do Darkness tokens do?" can be looked up if and when they come up during the game, but you do need to be able to handle the general turn flow. For the investigators, learning by playing is easy and actually ideal - there's very little rules-burden placed on them.Story 1: The Fall of House Lynch is definitely the best first scenario. It's got a few catch-up mechanics to give new players a chance even if they don't follow the clue chain, and in general is a high-quality scenario. Personally, I think Objective 1B is the most interesting and always use it as my introduction for new players.
