It seems like FLOS in the US are a lot more competitive when it comes to pricing. I'm sure if you were lucky enough to find a copy at a hobby store in the US in the future, the price tag will be at least that of the MSRP of 49.99.
Also, the €40 paid in Essen gave you the bonus of having an early, flown in copy - that if you pre-ordered came with the Pulsar Expansion (let's not talk about the printing errors here...). Once the shipped copies start hitting the market in Europe, I'm sure the prices will also start to go down.
